After making a quick stop in Columbus, we made it into Chicago on monday. We stayed with Reilly's friend Tracy at Northwestern University. It wasn't too late so we went in to the city to walk around. Most everyone lacked the energy to do anything real exciting so we just wandered around for a while. The train ride took all the energy out of us. I think the trains in Chicago stop at every block and go about four miles an hour. Still, we had to ride that boring train back. We did manage to make it out that night to check out the watering holes on campus. No one was out that night because of the bitter cold. This was our first night of actual cold weather. It was something like 12 degrees plus the Chicago wind. The next day we went to the Museum of Contemporary Art, The Art Institute, and Columbia University. While exploring the underground street level, we found the Billy Goat Tavern. It was the model for the "cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger" Saturday Night Live skit with john belushi. All of us but Justin went home and relaxed for a bit. Justin went out and saw a blues show and stumbled back to the apartment at 5am. Matt, Reilly and I took showers (that makes two in two weeks) at a local spa and then we all took off to Minneapolis to see the Mall of America.
